Author's Note:

I wrote this the morning we drove from Mt Vernon Illinois to Columbia Missouri... I had gotten off the phone with Silven only a couple hours before, but I already missed him...

Still

However many thousands of miles may part the land between us,

However much I long for you I know in my heart we each trust

That some day soon we'll find ourselves arm in arm,

That each night's moon brings us one day closer to the other's charm

Still thinking of you, my Love, still dreaming of the nights I'll get to hold you;

Still waiting to see you, my Love, still leaping at the thought of touching you.

Where on this morn I heard once more your voice

So hard it was to make the choice

To go once again into the breech

Out of touch and out of reach

Still thinking of you, my Love, still dreaming of a night I'll hold you;

Still waiting to see you, my Love, still wishing I could kiss you.

Hungers racking through my mind

Appeasing one, but cannot find

A suitable substitute to keep at bay

Heartache, driven, by will unswayed

Still thinking of you, my Love, still melting at the thought of you;

Still waiting to meet you, my Love, looking softly on my picture of you.

A thousand miles, or dozens of days,

Knowing always that my life you've saved;

Knowing we'll be together is my greatest thrill

No matter how many miles between us, I'm loving you

Still.
