if only I knew,
you wouldn't be here,

Now it's time,
to shed a tear,
more then ever,
they fall I fear.

Soft in the day,
late at night,
NOW I know,
I can't make it right,

Friendships passing all through my life,
just like ships, passing through the night.

I never thought,
I couldn't say goodbye,
I never thought, that you would die.

Now I'm here, and you are gone,
my lips frown, when I hear 'your' song,

We may not have been as close as we could be, but now I miss the chance,
to say what you mean to me.

If only I knew,
you wouldn't be here...
